Takeo Izawa

Takeo Izawa born in Tokyo, Japan, goes by nickname “Uki” earned an Economics degree from Senshu University in Tokyo and is now a U.S. Citizen residing in Kona.

He is a big game sport fishing boat Captain, angler and charter boat wholesale tour operations coordinator. He is a big game fishing lure maker for Blue Marlin (Kajiki) and Yellow Fin Tuna (Ahi). He is also the State of Hawaii’s Judiciary Court Japanese interpreter. He is employed in the KTA Superstores maintenance division. His community involvement includes serving as past President for the Lions Club of Kona, serves as the Japanese Secretary for the Kona Japanese Civic Association. He was appointed coordinator from Consul General of Japan in Honolulu Hawaii to set up big island welcome committee for “Hawaii Island Visit of The Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan’ in July 2009. He serves as the Japan Team liaison for the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament and Associate Foreign Member of the Japan Game Fish Association since 1980.

He is the International Game Fish Association pointed representative of State of Hawaii. He also coordinated the Hawaii-Shizuoka Environmental Student Ambassador program for young students from Hawaii and Shizuoka Prefecture for the Kona Japanese Civic Association. Mr. Izawa was also a licensed circuit and rally car racing organizer officer and racing car driver of the Japan Automobile Association.
